The building was designed by architect Viktor Estrovych to expand the Ukrainian X-ray Radiological Institute in 1929–1930. The four-story building has a distinctive polygonal shape that creates a zigzagging corridor. Although some details including authentic wooden windows and a central revolving door have been lost over time, the building has retained its original constructivist appearance.
